Gunner the Dog needs a home
Hi, I'm Gunner, a shy, intelligent, young Border Collie mix. I weigh 34 lbs and am full grown. My estimated birthday is 8/20/16. I am a liver (almost chocolate) and white with a soft coat. When people first meet me they comment on how handsome I am. Although quite shy with new people and environments, I am extremely sweet and loving once I have become acquainted with you. I love being around people! I was rescued from a situation where my owners neglected me by not including me in the family or properly socializing me with people, other dogs and other everyday activities. I am now in a foster home and learning all kinds of new things and getting socialized. Want to know how smart I am? Well, I went from an outdoor dog to one that shares a home with my foster and she is so proud of me because I am not having any accidents. I also have good manners in the house. I will need daily exercise. We can go for walks, hikes, out to eat at pet friendly establishments or other activities you enjoy doing. No apartments please. I need a fully fenced backyard where I can run and play fetch. I am crated a couple of hours a day and getting that crate training down quickly. I would do best in a home with children over 10 years old since younger children may be too active for me. Cats are not recommended. I'd also prefer to be an only dog so I can have the family's love and attention this will help me blossom. I'm doing pretty good with leash training so we can take walks together. You could even take me to some obedience training to polish off my new skills. I'm playful and outgoing once I get to know you. I have a "just right" activity level. Please come see me at Petco on Saturday, we may be a match made in heaven.
Adopter for Gunner must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home.
Adoption fee for Gunner is $175.
The Adoption Events where Gunner can be met are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the League City Petco, 2895 Gulf Freeway South. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Please come visit with us on Saturday!
